Gentlemen and Ladies,
Please accept this final report on the ‘01 Festival.
We had twenty eight exhibit tables set up with one brewery a no show. Documented attendance was up about 100 over last year. Paid attendance was up, and gross income increased by over $2000. Net income was up by $500.
Serb Hall was as classy as ever. We paid them $2000 more this year because they served 380 dinners.
As with most events, the tale of the festival is told by following the money. The body count is as follows:

ATTENDANCE
104 Complimentary admission - breweries, vendors, etc. - documented by passes turned in
61 Volunteers - free admission - documented by sign in sheets
165 unpaid admissions (averaging 6hrs. worked = 990 volunteer hours worked the day of the festival)
309 paid admission - documented by ticket stubs
474 total attendance

$ 5457 Net Income

Edie and I will donate $43 to make a nice round $5500 donation to charity. However, charity begins at home. The first $500 stays with me to pay off the second half of the $1011 interest free loan I gave the Festival.
$500 goes to Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Their dedicated volunteers humping beer into the hall impressed all the brewers. $250 is returned to Vietnam Veterans of America #324 for running the cash raffle. $100 will be sent to Fr. Edward Lisowski to be donated to his favorite charity. Milwaukee Beer Barons have refused to accept any money for running the homebrew contest. Leaving $4650 which will be divided evenly with $2325 going to My Lai projects to be distributed as they see fit, and $2325 to the Vietnam Veterans Art Museum in Chicago.
Next year I hope to increase presale tickets, and the homebrew contest will be started earlier. I will also have a better established web page. I expect this and other efforts will increase attendance. I am looking forward to a bigger, more successful, and hopefully more profitable festival next year.

Sincerely,

John Zutz
