Gentlemen and Ladies,

Please accept this final report on the 03 Festival.

We had thirty eight exhibit tables.  Attendance was down a bit over last year.  Paid attendance was down by about 50, though gross income was up by about $400. We are bringing in $24.50 for each paid admission.

Serb Hall was as classy as ever, and for some reason they really like us.  We paid them for 500 dinners, they let us use the hall for free. Total expenses were up about $200, and expenses topped net income this year.

As with most events, the tale of the festival is told by following the money.  The body count is as follows:

ATTENDANCE

72  Complimentary admission - documented by passes

63  Volunteers - free admission - documented by sign in sheets

135  documented unpaid admissions

386 paid admission  - documented by ticket stubs

$  5747 Net Income     Edie and I will donate $153 to make a nice round $5900 donation to charity.

The first $500 goes to Vietnam Veterans Against the War.  Their dedicated volunteers humping beer into the hall impressed all the brewers, as usual.

$200 goes to Vietnam Veterans of America #324 for running the cash raffle.  $100 will be sent to Fr. Tim Kitzke to be donated to his favorite charity.  Milwaukee Beer Barons have refused to accept any money for running the homebrew contest. Leaving $5100 which will be divided evenly with $2550 going to My Lai projects to be distributed as they see fit, and $2550 to the Library of Vietnam Project

Next year I hope to increase presale tickets, and the homebrew contest will be started earlier.  Paying for web space should make communications more relyable. I expect this and other efforts will increase attendance.  I am looking forward to a bigger, more successful, and hopefully more profitable festival next year.

Sincerely,
