25 March, 2004

Gentlemen and Ladies,
Please accept this final report on the 04 Festival. We had thirty six exhibit tables, and sold 345 advance tickets. Paid attendance was up though apparently there were some no-shows. Total attendance was up a bit over last year.
Serb Hall was as classy as ever, and for some reason they still really like us. We paid them for 500 dinners, they let us use the hall for free. Total expenses were down a bit, and income was up a bit this year.
As with most events, the tale of the festival is told by following the money. The body count is as follows:

ATTENDANCE
104 Complimentary admission - documented by passes
72 Volunteers - free admission - documented by sign in sheets
176 documented unpaid admissions
350 paid admission - (333 ticket stubs)
702 total documented attendance - Estimated attendance 750

All receipts are available for inspection by any participant.)
$ 6596 Net Income Edie and I will donate $104 to make a nice round $6700 donation to charity.

The first $500 goes to Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Their dedicated volunteers humping beer into the hall impressed all the brewers, as usual.
$200 goes to Vietnam Veterans of America #324 for running the cash raffle. $100 will be sent to Rev. Robert Giese to be donated to his favorite charity. Milwaukee Beer Barons have refused to accept any money for running the homebrew contest. Leaving $5900 which will be divided evenly with $2950 going to My Lai projects to be distributed as they see fit, and $2950 to the Library of Vietnam Project
Next year I hope to increase presale tickets, and the homebrew contest will be started earlier. Paying for web space should make communications more reliable. I expect this and other efforts will increase attendance. I am looking forward to a bigger, more successful, and hopefully more profitable festival next year.
Mark your calendar - March 13, 2005.

Sincerely,

John Zutz
